Srinagar, 6 Nov (KNO): A tragic accident near Lawaypora highway in Srinagar on Tuesday claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, Moomin Masoodi, while another teenager is under critical monitoring for his life at SKIMS Soura. Ishityaq Ahmad, one of the first on the scene, recounted the shocking moment when he saw the XUV vehicle flipping in the air. “We were just passing by when we saw the car flip multiple times, and we immediately ran towards the car. It was a nightmare,” Ahmad narrated to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He recalled. "I saw a group of teenagers, ranging in age from 14 to 16, trapped inside. One of them came out of the car on his own, but the others were badly injured. Two of them appeared to be in critical condition." Ishtiyaq, along with others, flagged down a passing Travera vehicle and rushed the injured to the nearest hospital. "Unfortunately, the efforts came too late for one of the boys, who was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital," he said. “One of them had no signs of life when we moved him. It was too late." Shabir Ahmad, another eyewitness, said the car was travelling at a high speed before it collided with the side of a moving truck. “The crash was so severe that the sound of the flipping car was terrifying. It was so violent, we feared the worst, that there would only be body parts left inside,” he said. The devastating crash occurred on Tuesday evening, sending shockwaves throughout the valley. While one life has been lost, another victim’s condition remains under critical observation at SKIMS Soura—(KNO)
